Start Bay

Magnificent coastal walks, superb beaches, pretty villages, the perfect choice for self catering accommodation in the South Hams. Start Bay has something for all the family to enjoy. Slapton sands extends for over three miles with the sea on one side and the well known Slapton Ley Nature Reserve on the other, this area is renown for its flora and fauna. Fishing can be organised on the Ley or sea fishing off the beach is very popular.

This area lies between Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Dartmouth so it is a great base for getting out and enjoying the South Hams.
We have a selection of properties in the well known village of East Prawle which is well known for it's pub the Pig's Nose aswell as it's beautiful coastline, the village of Slapton is perfect if you want somewhere quiet or great for walking and exploring, it also has two local pubs offering great home cooked food.

Torcross is famous for the D-Day landing rehearsals which took place in 1944.
The local town of Kingsbridge is an attractive market town with interesting shops, a great selection of restaurants and a superb leisure centre and indoor swimming pool. Thurlestone and Bigbury Golf club are nearby and Dartmouth Golf Club is 30 minutes away.

For children, there are a wealth of local activities (in addition to the wide selection of beaches!). There are the widely acclaimed adventure centres at Sorley Tunnel, near Kingsbridge and at Woodlands, near Dartmouth .
